Website and Web Game Terms

These terms cover the website at https://guessthesong.pro and the web game on it: the music quizzes, the hub and the daily game. The iPhone app is a separate product with its own Terms of Service, Subscription Terms and Privacy Policy. What the website collects is in the Website Privacy Policy.

1. Who provides it

The website and web game are provided by Maksym Myronenko, an individual developer. Contact: maximusik2@gmail.com.

2. The web game is free, in full

  • Every quiz, every level and the daily game on this website are free. There is no paywall, no level you have to pay for, no purchase of any kind, and no limit on how many rounds you play, apart from the daily game, which is one set of five a day by design.
  • There is no account and no sign-up. You never give us a name, an email address or a password to play.
  • There is no advertising on the website.
  • Your daily result and streak are kept in your own browser and nowhere else. Clearing site data or using a private window resets them; we cannot restore them.

The website links to the iPhone app on the App Store. Anything you buy there is bought from Apple under the app’s terms, not under these.

3. How the game works

A round plays a 30-second preview of a real recording. You pick the record that is playing from four covers, or type its title in the alternative mode. What a correct answer is worth falls with how much of the recording you have ever heard: 100% at 0:00, 75% at 0:15 and a 50% floor from 0:30. Pausing freezes the price and replaying is free. A run gives you three hearts; a wrong answer or giving up costs one.

The songs come from the same catalogue as the app. Which songs a quiz contains changes as the catalogue and the weekly country charts change.

4. Music and Apple Music

The previews are played by Apple’s own player (MusicKit JS), loaded from Apple when you first use a quiz. Song titles, artist names, recordings and artwork belong to their owners; we do not sell, license or let you download them. If you sign in with Apple Music to hear full songs, that sign-in is between you and Apple, and Apple’s terms apply to it. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the website.

5. Fair use of the website

Please do not:

  • scrape the quizzes, their pools or the answers, or use automated means to play or to load pages in bulk;
  • try to break, overload or get around the website’s security, or interfere with other people’s use of it;
  • publish the contents of a quiz or a daily game as an answer key;
  • use the website for anything unlawful.

6. No warranty, and our liability

The web game is provided free, as is and as available. We do not promise that it will always be online, that every song will play in every country, or that it will be free of errors. Scores, streaks and daily results have no monetary value.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your mandatory rights as a consumer.

7. Changes

We may change the website, add or remove quizzes and songs, or change these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the last change.

8. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine, and the competent courts of Kyiv, Ukraine have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and the right to bring proceedings there.
