Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Guess The Song → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Premium stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and deleting the app does not cancel anything.
I want a refund.
Apple takes the payment, so Apple decides refunds — we have no ability to issue, approve or reverse an App Store charge. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights under the consumer law where you live are not affected by this.
I paid, but the app still says I am on the free tier.
Open the paywall and tap Restore. That asks Apple for your purchase history and re-applies it to the device. If it still does not unlock, email us the Apple receipt and we will look at it.
I changed phones and my scores are gone.
Your account is anonymous and lives on the device — there is no username or password, and nothing to sign in to. That means progress does not follow you to a new phone or survive a delete-and-reinstall, and we usually have no way to recover it. Your subscription does follow you: open the paywall in the app and tap Restore. We know this is the sharpest edge in the app.
Why are Duel, Friends Room and Hotseat greyed out?
Because they are not built yet. They are designed and drawn, they sit on the home screen, and tapping one says "coming soon". They are not part of what a subscription buys, and we do not have a date.
Why does the score go down while I listen?
That is the game. A round plays one real 30-second record, and what naming it is worth is a function of how much of the record you have ever heard — 100% at the start, 75% by 0:15, and a 50% floor from 0:30. Pausing freezes the price. Replaying ground you have already covered is free.
I ran out of games.
The free tier is 3 games a day and tiers 1–6. The counter resets daily. Premium ($39.99 a year or $5.99 a month) removes the daily limit and unlocks tiers 7–10.
No sound.
Check the ring/silent switch on the side of the phone, then the volume, then whether another app is holding audio. Gameplay audio is an Apple Music preview streamed on demand, so it also needs a working connection — but it does not need an Apple Music subscription.
I lost a heart and I do not think I should have.
You get 3 hearts a run. In Classic, giving up on a record spends one; in Arcade, a wrong answer spends one. Both cost exactly the same, and the third one always ends the run. If a heart went missing without either of those happening, that is a bug — please tell us what you were doing.
How do I delete my data?
Email us from the address you want us to act on and say so. Because the account is anonymous we will need the device identifier the app can show you, otherwise we cannot tell which records are yours. The Privacy Policy sets out this and every other right you have in full.

Requirements
